Epsilon Pegasi (Enif) is the nose star of the horse, or the wall plug for the TV set; it's easy to find, and a distinctive yellow-orange color. Closer inspection with a telescope will reveal it is really three stars: the components are magnitudes 2.4, 11.2, 8.4, separated by 82" and 142". Epsilon Pegasi is a giant star, 780 light years away and 5800 times brighter than our sun. Remember, globular star cluster M15 lies just 4 degrees northwest - another fine target for amateur telescopes.
