NGC Clusters in Gemini

NGC 2304 is another open cluster, of the tenth magnitude, located between Alhena and Mekbuta in central Gemini.

NGC 2420 is an open star cluster, of the 9th magnitude in total, with about 30 stars across a field 7 arc minutes across (one fourth the size of the moon). The brightest of its stars barely poke about the 10th magnitude, but this little group may attract your attention if you happen to be in the area hunting for the more spectacular Eskimo nebula just 2.5 degrees to the west-southwest.

NGC 2129 is an open star cluster, nothing to compare with the lovely M35; this group of about 50 stars is located...the brightest members of the cluster are eighth magnitude. This group is located about 2 degrees west of M35 in the feet of Gemini.

NGC 2266 is a fairly small open star cluster, especially compared with the majestic M35. A compact, rich group, NGC 2266 can be found about 1.5 degrees north of the third magnitude star Epsilon Geminorum (Mebsuta).

NGC 2355 is a 12th magnitude open cluster, with about 30 faint stars. The cluster is located in southern Gemini, near the border with Canis Minor (marked by brilliant Procyon).

NGC 2395 is an open cluster of the eighth magnitude, located in southern Gemini not far from the fainter NGC 2355. To locate NGC 2395, start from the 4th magnitude Mekbuta, and extend a line southeast past Lambda, and on for an equal such distance.
