The Pentax battery eliminator is designed to
allow long exposure astrophotographs to be taken
with the Pentax Model 67 or Model 6X7 medium format
cameras without the use of the costly batteries
required by these cameras. The battery eliminator
also has the benefit of removing the possibility
of battery failure during an exposure.
The battery eliminator consists of two metal pieces (shown in photo below) which fit onto the right hand grip side of the camera body. This allows a locking cable release to depress the mechanical mirror lockup during the exposure. The mirror lockup button is indicated in the photo at left.
