M15 is one of the brightest globular star clusters, located conveniently 4 degrees northwest of Enif, the horse's nose. Dubbed "the boogers" irreverently by some amateurs, this compact star swarm is an easy target for small telescopes. M15 lies about 40,000 light years from us, and puts out as much light as 200,000 suns. Larger telescopes reveal thousands of M15's half-million member stars.
