Omicron 1 Cygni

Deep Sky Object Chart | Deneb & NGC 7000 | Albireo | Chi Cygni | 61 Cygni | Cygnus X-1 | M29 | M39 | NGC 6828 | NGC 7027 | Veil Nebula

Omicron 1 Cygni is the brightest of a group of stars northwest of Deneb - apparently, this cluster of three stars is just a chance alignment of stars at different distances (unlike 61 Cygni, a genuine multiple star).

But that hardly disappoints me - the point here is the sheer loveliness of golden yellow Omicron 1, right next to a much hotter and therefore bluer star, with a pure white third luminary nearby. These three celestial show-offs are all much brighter than our sun, and located hundreds of light-years away. By themselves, they are like many of Cygnus's other stars - but seen from Earth, they happen to form an attractive example of contrasting star colors, and the only rival in that respect to Albireo in this part of the heavens (see above).
