NGC 2339 is the only galaxy of any note in Gemini, and just barely worth note, as it glows at a mere magnitude 12.9 and is comparatively small at 2 arc minutes. This loosely organized "Sc" type spiral system is tilted about 20 degrees from face on, presenting an almost round appearance. Only larger instruments under dark skies have a chance at spotting this out of the way object. Your hunt for this galaxy will start just southeast of the 4th magnitude star Mekbuta.
