Standard digital SLR cameras are equipped with deep red cut-off filters which do not allow photos with deep red or near infrared (IR) to be taken. To get around this, Hutech offers spectrum-enhanced versions of Fuji and Canon digital cameras with several filter configurations. Enhanced cameras come with image sensor-mounted clear filters with special AR coatings tailored for visible and IR light wideband applications (see spectral response details).

A variety of external filters are available for normal daylight photography or specialized narrowband or IR photography, making an extremely flexible digital photo system for scientific applications.

Fuji S5Pro with clear filter -- features live preview mode for focusing and shot composition. The clear filter allows for the addition of an external filter for normal daylight photography or a visual wavelength blocker for IR photography.

Canon 5D and 40D with clear filter -- The clear filter allows for the addition of an external filter for normal daylight photography or a visual wavelength blocker for IR photography. The 40D features live preview for focusing and composition.
