95-007 "HST Cartwheel" The Hubble Space Telescope has had the artist doing cartwheels for years - image after spectacular image, more than making up for the spacecraft's early troubles. The HST is here seen with the Cartwheel Galaxy in the background, and no such image would be possible in a photograph; the Cartwheel is a tiny, faint smudge from Earth. Its true glory, as shown here, was not revealed until Hubble's powerful eye spied in on it a few years ago. The artist has brought them together here for you - to celebrate the wonderful success of the HST, and the spirit of discovery which gave birth to it.
