An instant before mayhem, we glimpse the dreaded shape of the Great White Shark flashing toward a hapless swimmer. This illustration is intended to startle, and also to humble; humans do not belong in the sea, and although Great Whites prefer their natural prey (seals), we are not above becoming part of the food chain. I know this piece may not hang easily over the fireplace - Wyland it ain't - but there is more to the ocean than happy dancing dolphins, and someone needs to show the rest of the picture...my job, I suppose.
