01-018 "Sigma Draconis 2"
2001, digital

This view from an imaginary outer planet of the sun like star Sigma Draconis shows off a star field somewhat altered by our being 19 light years from home; the orange star Antares and its scorpion constellation appear familiar to us at center, but the blue star Vega at left is definitely not where Earthlings see it. Sigma Draconis itself is the brilliant object at left, and warms this little world about as much as our sun does Pluto. Two small moons orbit slowly above the ice landscape.
